The Aunt / Uncle DNA Test, also known as Avuncular Testing, measures the probabilities that two alleged relatives submitting specimens for testing are related as Participant 1 being either aunt or uncle to Participant 2. This test can be used for legal or personal purposes.
Conclusive Range: <20% exclusion or >80% inclusion. Turnaround Time: 3-6 Weeks. Participants: One alleged aunt or uncle, one niece or nephew. Other Details: The probabilities can be increased greatly if other known relatives, such as a parent of the niece or nephew, are available for testing. Results may vary between 1% and 99% accuracy.
Procedure: Samples are collected from one alleged Aunt or Uncle and one Niece or Nephew at home or at a collection center (a parent is optional, but strongly suggested). The samples are obtained using a cheek swab (provided by GeneTree). After samples are sent to the laboratory, results will be available within 3-6 weeks. The conclusive range for these results are <20% exclusion or >80% inclusion. We do not guarantee that results will fall into this conclusive range, and results may vary between 1% and 99% accuracy.
